FOCUS GROUPS WERE ANOTHER METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION WHICH WAS USED TO COLLECT INPUT FROM COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. THIS PROCESS WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN DETERMINING THE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A HEALTHY COMMUNITY, THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED, AND STRENGTHS AND ASSETS OF THE COMMUNITY. THE BEHAVIORAL RISK FACTOR SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM (BRFSS) SURVEY WAS ABLE TO COLLECT FEEDBACK FROM NEARLY 1,400 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH A STANDARDIZED SURVEY CONDUCTED VIA TELEPHONE INTERVIEWS OFFERED IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH.
