THE MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME OF OSCODA COUNTY IS 45,659, LOWEST AMONG THE THREE COUNTIES. AND LOWER YET COMPARED TO THE STATE OF MICHIGAN AT 63,202. PERSONS OF POVERTY ARE LOWEST IN CRAWFORD COUNTY (15.8%), WHICH IS HIGHER THAN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN (13.1%) THE PERCENTAGE OF PERSONS 65 AND OLDER ALSO IS HIGHER IN ALL THREE COUNTIES THAN IN ALL OF MICHIGAN (18.1%), WITH ROSCOMMON AT 33.5%, OSCODA AT 28.7%, AND CRAWFORD AT 25.9%, AND IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE. CRAWFORD, OSCODA AND ROSCOMMON COUNTIES ARE DESIGNATED AS MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED AREAS. QUALITY GRAYLING HOSPITAL IS FULLY ACCREDITED BY THE JOINT COMMISSION AND HAS EARNED THE GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL, AN INTERNATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED SYMBOL OF HEALTH CARE QUALITY.
